Picking your Weight Bench

A weight bench is usually divided into two or more sections that are variable at different angles. This permits a diversity of positions and intensities. There are four kinds of weight benches you can select from, each of these kinds serve us different purposes.
The preacher curl bench is the most popular equipment that helps tone your biceps while keeping your arms firmly planted and stabilized on the bench all throughout the entire workout. This bench is small and easy to move that is why it is fairly commonly used. This makes the preacher curl bench perfect for home gyms.

The dumbbell weight bench uses, obviously, dumbbells instead of the traditional barbells. It normally doesn’t have a rack for barbells and more often comes in a simple flat solid bench. Some models of this type have adjustable upper half for inclination, allowing different angles and intensities. Additional components like the preacher curl attachments and the leg press is rarely found.

The third kinds are called Olympic weight benches. These are made to support bigger and heavier bars. This is even considered as the most popular type of weight bench found in any fitness center or your local gyms because they are intended for weightlifters.

And lastly, the one used for abdominal workouts like curl-ups is called the ab weight bench. They are either declined or horizontal, and would usually include foot grips on each end and adjustable at any angle to target different angles and areas of your abdomen.

Always remember that when buying weight benches, choose the ones that you are most comfortable with, and well, the one that can support heavy loads.
